Artist Biography

Sarah Hessinger is an emerging abstract painter.

Living in Sonoma County for years, Hessinger spent decades studying medicinal plants, working in gardens, and nurturing her love affair with our natural world.

Awarded 18th place in an international Juxtapoz Magazine-sponsored contest, and a solo show in 2018 would solidify a commitment to her craft.

Hessinger’s work can be found in public and private collections across the United States. Hessinger’s work has been exhibited in Seattle, Portland, Maui, Chicago, San Francisco, and the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, CA.

As a self-taught artist, she continues to carve her path with dedication and passion, striving to inspire conversations about our natural world, the changes that are taking place, and how we can become better stewards of our internal and external ecosystems.
